Born in Marseille on May 24th 1968, Frederic Rossi comes from a big racing family and was thrown into this equestrian world since his childhood. He is the son of the equally talented jockey and later trainer, Henri Rossi.
He is quickly drawn to horse training like his father. He works with him from 1987 to 1989.
In September1989, Frédéric arrives in Chantilly to become the assistant trainer of John
Hammond, whose accolades do not even require an explanation.
His passion for the races and insatiable curiosity will push him to travel the world to understand the sector from an international stand point.
Finally, he settles for his native region in the South East, the Calas training centre to start his own career as a trainer. He first works in collaboration with his brother, Jaques Rossi after taking over his father’s stables, but soon goes off on his own.
Enriched by his professional experiences, his travels and a natural keen eye, he quickly sees success. He has passed the important mile stone of the one thousand victories, of which five group threes and most recently, his first group one.
This year 2020 represents an apotheosis for the trainer from Marseille with the triumph of Dream And Do in the French 1000 Guineas Gr1, the highest possible level of competition.
This race is amoung the classics of French flat racing, a novel feat for the stable.
Today, at the head of a stable of counting one hundred and ten horses which we will present to you here, He is among some of the best French trainers.
